Frequently asked questions.
Feel nervous to ask a question?
We strive to give people options for growth. You are welcome to call to talk if that’s how you learn, even if your question is here. If you prefer to look on your own, keep going:
How long will it take?
It’s not Freud’s couch anymore. In modern times, we have streamlined the process. We will give you a Good Faith Estimate taking into consideration your needs, coverage, means, and preferences. This way when you get started you know what you are getting yourself into in every sense. We use screening tools to help measure your symptom improvement.
Generally, For many people they will experience improvements within 3-6 sessions. Some people need counseling weekly for years and that’s okay. In some modalities, episodes of treatment are generally 12 appointment sets. It can be very helpful to take breaks.
What if I don’t know what I need?
It can be hard to explain ourselves sometimes. You may know something isn’t right, but not sure how say it and trust you will be heard. You may feel embarrassed. It could feel like this has never happened to someone else. It can be hard to trust. Believe us when we tell you, are staff have heard it all and have probably been there too. We can help you find the words. We can ask you questions and help you figure it out together.
Is therapy safe? Will my information be safe?
Every step of our process is confidential, meaning private, with minimal exception, like mandated reporting of child/elder abuse. So even if you tell us something personal while shopping for your next counselor and don’t choose us, do not worry. We are professionals who hear a lot of different details all day. We will either destroy your information properly or forget it entirely. We do not use AI for our notes. We do not record phone calls or video sessions.
What if someone see’s me there?
We are located at a quiet, private office in a popular plaza. No one would know why your car is at the plaza. There are many different professionals from eye brow designers and nail techs to speech pathologists, so there is a lower concern for shame or confidentiality issues than at other offices where only counseling takes place.
What will insurance know about me?
The only information insurance gets is your diagnosis code, and the length of time we meet. For the most confidential services, self pay is recommended. We offer discounted packages for self pay bulk purchases.
Will my boss find out?
No. Your information is protected by several laws and policies. The session information becomes a medical record that can only be shared to people you tell us to share it with, or if there is a court order. We would always tell you if there was a request for your information. Even if a release of information is sent we verify with you before acting on it.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. We take many insurances. We are working on being able to accept Tricare East, Medicare, and Medicaid. Those are unique in how they function, they are careful about what providers they allow to bill with them and we respect that but we have to be patient. It is very important to us that we be able to offer services covered by those polices. Hang in there!
In this modern day, we have so many insurance options, and more to come in 2026. We have partnered with Tava Health Inc, and Spring Health Inc. to offer insurance covered options.
